Hello, I am Ana-Maria, a photographer specialising in social documentary and events and travel photography, currently based in London, UK.

The combination of my Bulgarian roots and my current life in a western country has made me increasingly keen on tracing the personal everyday intersections of where East meets West, specifically in the context of social and cultural integration. I am deeply interested in behavioural observations and look for the way people communicate with the environment around them especially in a world of ever-changing social and cultural trends.
Operating from the UK, however, has also pushed me to cover major events focused around socio-political issues and research broader topics in the realm of activism and mass movements, and global politics and their influence on local communities.

I am also an avid traveller and thoroughly enjoy exploring new place through my lens. I predominantly use film for my travel work as it is more on the personal side for me, however, as it brings me great joy and pushes me to always have my eyes wide open when visiting somewhere new, I would love to turn it into a more serious project of mine. But all in due course!
